Extensive Training

Dr. Chung's impressive background began early. As valedictorian of his class at New Jersey's Millville Senior High School, Dr. Chung's inquisitive mind experienced the gratification of hard work. He channeled those qualities into his undergraduate studies at Yale University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in chemistry. He went on to study medicine at the prestigious Tufts University School of Medicine.

Following his graduation from medical school, Dr. Chung completed an internship in general surgery and otolaryngology, followed by a 4-year residency in otolaryngology – head and neck surgery. In 2014, Dr. Chung moved to Chicago to complete a fellowship in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery under acclaimed surgeon Dr. Dean Toriumi.

Dr. Chung has chosen to devote his practice strictly to facial plastic surgery which offers patients a number of benefits. Unlike many other plastic surgeons who perform procedures on the entire body, Dr. Chung's extensive education and training have focused exclusively on the structures of the head and neck. This gives him a deeper understanding of the intricacies of this complex area allowing him to create results that are beautiful, functional, and predictable.

In addition to his academic training, Dr. Chung has completed numerous presentations and peer-reviewed publications on topics including tip contouring in rhinoplasty, sleep apnea, and skin cancer of the scalp. Presently, he maintains active memberships in 6 professional organizations including the American Academy of Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery and the American Academy of Otolaryngology and Head & Neck Surgery.

A Long-Term Relationship

Although quality plastic surgery procedures create outcomes that are long-lasting, Dr. Chung doesn't believe that the doctor-patient relationship should end after surgery. Instead, he strives to create lasting connections with each patient, often following up with them years after surgery to examine how their results are evolving and simply check in with them on a personal level.
